Create a searchable collection of video links and permitted offline files without confusing bookmarks with downloads.

A video library can mean a catalog of links, a collection of files you are allowed to keep, or both. Start by deciding what you want to find later and where each item should live. Clear labels, source details, and a simple backup plan make the collection more useful than a folder of unnamed downloads.
A bookmark catalog tracks pages that remain online, while a local library stores files available without the original service. Keep the two types distinguishable in your organization. Links can stop working or require a subscription; local files consume storage and need permission to retain. Knowing the difference prevents false expectations when you travel or change devices.
For each entry, record a useful title, creator or source, subject, date saved, and a short note about why it matters. For local files, include duration or language when useful and use consistent filenames. Do not store passwords, session tokens, or private viewing details in a shared catalog. The goal is to identify content quickly without making data collection excessive.
Start with broad groups that match how you search, such as learning, work references, entertainment, or creative inspiration. Add tags for themes or projects rather than creating a new folder for every clip. Periodically remove duplicates and review dead links. A collection stays useful when its structure is simple enough to maintain.
Back up local media to storage you control and periodically test that copies open. A backup is not permission to copy content in the first place. Follow the provider's terms and copyright rules, and do not bypass DRM or access controls. DRM-protected streams are not supported for saving. Only retain files you own or are authorized to keep, and remove material when your permission ends.
Only download content you own or have permission to save. Support depends on the website and media format; DRM-protected content is not supported.
